Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse is a distinguished Ghanaian climate scientist and academic, renowned for her expertise in climate dynamics, particularly concerning the West African monsoon. Born on May 23, 1981, in Nyanfeku Ekroful, Ghana, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Cape Coast, graduating in 2003. She furthered her studies with a Ph.D. in Climatology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012.
Throughout her career, Professor Klutse has focused on climate science and development, with a specific emphasis on the African monsoon. Her research has significantly contributed to understanding climate variability and its impacts on West Africa. She has held notable positions, including leading the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre at the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI) under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission from 2016 to 2018. In this role, she managed the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre, where she applied satellite technology to monitor and analyze climatic patterns.
Professor Klutse's extensive background in remote sensing and climate modeling positions her at the intersection of environmental science and space technology.
